IMBiBERs participated 16th ICRS in Auckland, New Zealand

July 19-24, 2026. The IMBiBE Laboratory was proud to contribute 18 scientific presentations at the 16th International Coral Reef Symposium (ICRS 2026) in Auckland, New Zealand. Bringing together more than 2,100 participants from 93 countries, the symposium provided a global platform to present research that advances our understanding of the current state, future trajectories, and conservation of coral reef ecosystems.

Our laboratory contributed 5 oral presentations 🎤, 5 speed talks ⚡, and 8 poster presentations 📌, highlighting research on climate change impacts 🌡️, coral bleaching and reef resilience, soft coral and stress-tolerant massive coral ecology, coral recruitment, coral restoration and sexual propagation 🪸, reef-associated biodiversity 🪼, coral population dynamics 📊, and science-based coral reef management, governance, and policy 📋. These presentations reflect the collective efforts of the IMBiBE Laboratory, led by Dr. Maria Vanessa Baria-Rodriguez, together with its laboratory technicians, students, and researchers. This underscores our commitment to advancing science for the conservation, restoration, and sustainable management of coral reef ecosystems.
