Van currently works as an Assistant Professor at the Marine Science Institute. Her academic and research interests include: coral reef ecology, coral reproduction and recruitment,  coral physiology and coral restoration. She received her Doctoral Degree in Marine and Environmental Science, University of the Ryukyus in Okinawa, Japan.

 

Currently, she works on research projects investigating coral recruitment in acidified and eutrophic reefs, as well as soft coral diversity and reproduction.
